Not every art day starts happy. Kiri came to this session cranky. We tried every possible idea, and nothing worked, until he remembered the Minecraft book he'd borrowed from the school library. It took 30 minutes, and a few tears, just to settle down. Then, in the next 30 minutes and with a little help, he built a blocky Minecraft buddy. It has a box body, brown hair, a big smile and purple ears. The shirt is striped in pink, purple, orange and brown, with purple pants below. Two block arms stick out the sides, and each hand holds a flat piece of cardboard. By the time it was finished, so were the tears.
