Today Kiri wanted to draw our cat Fuji eating her food at night, inspired by a story about night animals. He started with the body, legs, tail, then head, getting help with marker lines. He painted the night background with black poster color, then added grass and painted Fuji's body. We mixed colors with black to dim the tones and create that nighttime atmosphere. Today he couldn't sit still for long unlike usual. We made a cute cardboard dog to motivate him to push through to the end. He came to draw Fuji... but got Fuji and a new friend home!
